The Treasure Coast Kennel Club consists of members from Indian River, St Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee counties. We are an American Kennel Club associate member. Treasure Coast Kennel Club has been in existence since the late 60's.
The Treasure Coast Kennel Club is made up of friendly dog people, both beginners and "pros".
Our club abounds with dog lovers who share common interests of raising, training,
breeding and competing with purebred dogs.
Our philosophy is to educate, volunteer and show good sportsmanship. We cheerfully listen to
your dog stories even though your family members might not.
In the TCKC we are proud to support our youth. We think it is a great job to educate the young.
We offer Junior Showmanship courses. We encourage juniors to participate in AKC performance
events and we support Star Bright 4H Obedience,
who hold their meetings in our club house.
The club holds two all breed AKC dog shows a year. We are presently using
the Indian River County Fair Grounds to hold our shows.
We also hold AKC Agility Trials at the fair grounds. The club sponsors an
ALL Breed B Match
which is an informal dog show for beginners and puppies. We also offer AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) testing.
Our Club meetings are on the 4th Tuesday of each month at our club house on
Georgia Avenue and US1(next to the Dollar Tree) in Ft Pierce at 7:30 PM.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend. At several meetings, during the year,
special programs are held in conjunction with the club meeting.
Special Speakers are invited to address the club. Such Topics as canine dental
hygiene, inoculation protocols, canine chiropractic medicine and breeding seminars.
The club also offers conformation handling classes, obedience training classes,
rally obedience classes and agility classes.
All the classes are indoors with A/C.
